Recommended Lawn Care Program
- Spring Application – Heavy rate of balanced liquid fertilizer, pre-emergent crabgrass control, and post-emergent broadleaf weed control as needed
- Late Spring Application – Balanced liquid fertilizer and broadleaf weed control as needed
- Mid Season Application – Balanced slow-release granular fertilizer and broadleaf weed control as needed
- Fall Application – Liquid application of slow-release fertilizer and broadleaf weed control as needed
- Winterizer Application – Dry application of balanced potash and nitrogen for winter health and early spring green-up.

Weed Prevention
Weeds like to grow in bare or thin areas of a lawn where they can better compete for nutrients. The best way to prevent new weeds from establishing is to focus on the health of your soil and grass for a thick turf that will outcompete the weeds. To accomplish this, we recommend checking your soil pH regularly and applying lime as needed, and pairing this service with an aeration or an aeration and overseeding. An aeration improves the root health of your grass while seeding will fill in any bare or thin areas left by dying weeds, dog spots, or other environmental factors.
Grub Control
This application provides up to three months of control over a variety of surface and sub-surface feeding larvae that can damage your lawn. If your lawn is already showing the signs of a grub infestation that has progressed too far for preventative grub control, it may be necessary to utilize Curative Grub Control.
Preventative Grub Control methods not only are effective at reducing grub damage to your lawn but can also be utilized as a way to mitigate Mole activity in your lawn as well as target Japanese Beetles in the larvae stage. We recommend a preventative grub control application with our lawn care program to reduce the impact of grub activity on your lawn.
Quality Weed Control
The most common types of weeds in our area include broadleaf weeds (like dandelions) and grassy weeds (like crabgrass). There are also perennial and annual weeds with very different life cycles that require treatment at different times of the year. Summer weeds, like Creeping Charlie, are the toughest to control in Wisconsin and Minnesota. We have specialized approaches and lawn care treatments to control over 150 different types of weeds common to lawns in our area.
Dog Spot Preventer Program
The dog spot preventer program is a three-step lawn care program that neutralizes areas where a dog has created areas of brown grass by urinating. The gypsum neutralizes the high salt content of these spots and helps to return the grass to its green state. It is also effective in lawn areas where it has been damaged by salt used on sidewalks over the winter. We recommend 3 applications in a year for the best results.
